Curtis Basham

Biography

Curtis’ practice focuses on commercial, corporate, and general civil litigation. He advises corporations and individuals in disputes arising between shareholders, directors, and business partners, as well as parties to commercial contracts, commercial/industrial leases, and executors and beneficiaries under a will. Curtis has additional experience in employing preventative and mitigative strategies beyond litigation.

Before joining Dennis Dawson James Aitken LLP, Curtis articled and worked as a litigation associate at an international law firm before joining a well-respected litigation boutique. He graduated with honors from the University of Surrey, England, and represented the University in the Landmark Property Law and Telders International Law moots. He has appeared in the Supreme Court of British Columbia and in mediation and arbitration.

Outside of work, Curtis is an avid snowboarder and golfer. Before becoming a lawyer, he worked with independent artists and major labels as a music producer in Los Angeles and Vancouver.
