Litigating rights under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is also part of our constitutional law experience. A past example is our representation of a disabled First Nations member in a suit against the federal government relating to entitlement to treaty benefits and an alleged breach of section 15 of the Charter (Charlie v. Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation, 2002 FCT 344). Currently Craig Dennis, K.C. and Owen James represent the City of Surrey in a Charter challenge to amendments to the Police Act.
