DJA lawyers have extensive experience in professional liability matters. We regularly act for lawyers, engineers, accountants, doctors and allied health professionals, notaries and other professionals facing lawsuits or regulatory complaints.

Recently Craig Dennis K.C. and Ray Power represented a notary public on a successful appeal that overturned a trial judgment and resulted in the dismissal of the claim:  Engman v. Canfield, 2023 BCCA 56.  In another recent example of our work, Craig, Eric Aitken and Ray Power acted in connection with proceedings arising from the breach of a tailings dam at the Mount Polley mine.

Our lawyers also have experience advising regulatory bodies in connection with investigations and discipline proceedings. That affords us a valuable perspective and depth of understanding that we bring to our work in the area.

Craig Dennis K.C. is the author of the chapter on Professional Negligence in the Continuing Legal Education Society’s publication on Business Disputes. The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory also has recognized Craig as a leading lawyer in the area of professional liability on several occasions.
